Blog 1: Green Room Action Scene

(Some Context for the scene): Skinheads killed three members of a punk-rock band after they witnessed a murder. The only surviving member of the band, Pat, and a young woman, Amber, are being held captive in the green room of a music venue. John Darcy, the Neo Nazi owner of the venue, has sent two henchmen to kill Pat and Amber. Darcy has also dispatched his right hand man, Gabe, to clean up the blood and bodies in  the venue.

Henchmen 1 and 2 enter to find a fellow henchman dead next to the bar. Gabe follows close behind. There is a shotgun in the dead man's lap, and the henchmen inspect the body. “No shells” says henchman 1, confirming that the shotgun is empty. Gabe enters the room saying,

“Behind the bar," referring to hidden shotgun ammunition. “Better get started,” he tells the henchmen. The henchmen start toward the green room, a vicious dog is with them. Suddenly, feedback squeals from speakers in the venue, causing the dog and henchmen to panic. The dog gets loose and runs away. Gabe approaches the henchmen, demanding an explanation. Henchman 1 tells him that the feedback caused the dog to leave and tells Gabe to “Turn this shit off!”. Gabe says,

“It's not coming from our mixer!” Henchman 2 says to Gabe,

“Just Go! We got this”. Henchman 2 draws a pistol: “And don’t tell Darcy!”. Gabe exits and Henchman 2 readies himself, asking henchman 1, “We goin?”

Henchman 1 kicks the door open and the two burst in. Inside Pat stands with his back turned to the henchmen. Unknown to the henchmen, Pat has shaved his head, making him unrecognizable from behind. “Down there, dipshit fashion-punk clown motherfuckers!” Pat yells, confusing the henchmen. henchman 2 demands,

“Turn Around!” Pat yells,“Shazbot!” henchman 1 asks,
“What? Who is that?”

“Odin himself” says Pat turning around, revealing war camouflage patterns drawn on his face with marker. He is holding a machete. Pat drops down into a hidden drug bunker that he and his friends had uncovered earlier. He begins screaming while swinging the machete into various objects; he does this while moving behind curtains in the bunker. The henchmen are confused by this, and henchman 2 cautiously moves toward the mixer in the corner of the room and stops the feedback loop. While the henchmen brace themselves, Pat sits down in the bunker and slams the machete repeatedly against a barrel. Looking into the bunker, henchman 2 says to henchman 1: “Give me the shotgun”

“I got the shotgun” Henchman 1 says

“Then you go down in this fucking hole!” henchman 2 snarls as he and henchman 1 trade weapons. “Three Shots” henchman 2 says. “You hear me fire twice, you come down there no matter what.”

“This is a trap” henchman 1 says

“Yeah no shit, you wanna be the one to go back and tell Darcy?” henchman 2 says, just before jumping down into the bunker. Henchman 1 watches from the hole in the floor as henchman 2 moves to the curtains that Pat is waiting behind. Amber climbs out from under the cushions of the couch behind henchman 2, a box cutter in her hand. Henchman 2 turns around and informs henchman 1 to get Gabe and a knife, to be safe. Before henchman 1 can finish his sentence, Amber rushes him and screams as she pulls the blade across his throat. “Oh shit!” henchman 2 yells aiming the shotgun at Amber, who ducks away. Pat moves out from the curtain machete in hand. As henchman 2 is about to face Pat, Amber fires the pistol that henchman 1 had left behind at henchman 2. Henchman 2 fires a shell at the hole leading up and misses: “Gabe!” his cry goes unheard as Gabe is seen power washing the bar. Pat calls for Amber but pauses before saying “Never Mind”. This causes henchman 2 to face Pat, who has moved back behind the curtains. Amber then begins spraying foam from a fire extinguisher into the bunker, causing henchman 2 to face her.  “2 shots left!”, Amber yells. Amber dangles the legs of henchman 1 into the hole, attempting to trick henchman 2. “Nice try” he says, turning toward Pat. Amber lets the body fall into the bunker. Henchman 2 begins to move through the curtain. Pat knocks him down to the ground, moving back behind the curtains and around the corner just in time for henchman 2 to fire and miss. Amber yells: “One shot left!” as her legs are seen dangling into the bunker. Henchman 2 aims, fires and hits, knocking Amber and the pistol down into the bunker.

Henchman 2 is out of ammo. He runs and grabs the pistol and is confused to see it is empty. He looks up into the green room to see Amber holding the pistol magazine. “Zero” she says. The second body shot by henchman 2 is revealed to be that of the girl who had been murdered earlier, causing the events of the movie. Pat grabs the shotgun while henchman 2 is distracted. Retrieving shells from his jacket, he loads the shotgun. Pat’s left arm is injured, and it takes him too long to load the shotgun. Henchman 2 throws the pistol at Pat causing Pat to miss his shot. Henchman 2 and Pat struggle on the floor over the shotgun. Henchman 2 manages to pry a shell out of the Pat’s hand and chambers it into the shotgun. Amber drops down into the bunker; she retrieves the pistol from the floor just behind henchman 2, loads it and fires two shots into henchman 2’s head. Disgusted, Amber says: “Got him”.

“Totally” says Pat. “Flabbergasted that motherfucker”.
